Featured for adoption : Aries $300

Aries sadly made his way back to our rescue after being in a home for 1 year. He got into it with the other males in the home. Sadly, the large pack dynamic did not work for him.

We sent Aries right to our behavioralist for a 3 week board and train to get eyes on what was going on. What we found is that he definitely can be stubborn and not want to listen to authority! According to our behavioralist, he likely was used to ignoring authority and allowed to do whatever he wants. Yet, luckily we have seen zero aggression. We had to basically start over to teach him leash manners, basic commands, and we are working on muzzle conditioning so vet appointments can be a bit easier for him. Ares does not love to be restrained and can lash out with having tantrums. We will provide two FREE training lessons, to help guide his next owner and his training comes with a lifetime of support.

Aries is 3 years old and with a strong home breed experienced home, he will flourish. He needs a home who will be stern with him and continue to show him boundaries and mutual respect. He went back to his original fosters before going to board and train, and he did absolutely amazing with their female husky and male malamute. We absolutely think he can go to a home with another dog. He just did not mesh well with a large pack. He would do best with a female or submissive male. He is potty trained, non destructive, and he walks amazing on a leash now! When we first saved him, he was matted, heartworm positive, and he was likely an outside dog. Now, we are working on creating obedience and teaching him how to respect authority! We would love a strong handler home for him! He can really be a great dog, and we know the right home is out there for him!

GTS Husky Rescue is a 501(c)(3) public, volunteer run charity. Our mission is to save huskies and other nordic breed dogs who are abandoned, neglected, and surrendered to kill shelters. We also strive to provide education about the breed in order to impact the community and help decrease the amount of abandoned huskies & malamutes.

What We Do.

Our team of dedicated volunteers will drive anywhere in the United States to rescue huskies on death row in kill shelters, puppy mills, and other abusive situations. We then bring them to Florida where we provide necessary medical treatment, care, and love until they are ready to be adopted into loving forever homes.
