FROST
MEDICAL UPDATE: Frost has had an MRI & CT scan at the neurologist! The good news is, he does not have cancer or any spinal issues. The MRI showed there is a thick wall of scar tissue that will not go away, and is due to his past injury that his past owner never fixed with surgery. He underwent 3 rounds of an epidural injections and we are SO HAPPY to share we have seen huge improvements. He has not had a yelping episode when getting up in over a month! We spoke to the neurologist and she believes he may not need more epidural injections in the future, and she thinks the reason he was yelping when getting up is because the scar tissue was inflamed, but only time will tell. Whoever adopts Frost will have to set him up with a neurologist and he will have to go for check ups every 6 months. Frost is a dog who will need ongoing medical care with a neurologist, and possible future epidural injections in order to live a happy pain free life. For now, we are just so happy the epidurals took away his pain, and he is back to being happy and no longer yelping.
Our sweet boy Frost is still looking for his forever home! If you’re looking for a calm laid back husky, then he is it! Frost is a 8 year old Wooly husky and he is such a good boy! Frost is super submissive and good with all other dogs both big and small, and he is even cat friendly ! Frost can be a vocal boy who will wooo for attention. He is very affectionate with people and he is very chill throughout the day! He is completely potty trained and he is non destructive so he does not need to be crated when left home alone! He gets along with everybody and he is super gentle with kids! He loves to snuggle up on dog beds and he is extremely well behaved when out in public.
He had a rough start to life; and he was likely an outside dog who got out and got hit by a car. He has an old pelvic injury that healed on its own, because of this his back leg can buckle and he can be sensitive to the back area. Surgery was not recommended to correct this and our vet says after looking at XRAYS, he likely has been living like this for a while. But, this does not stop him from being a happy boy! We have him on daily supplements and pain meds when he has rough days. He needs a home who can continue his medical care and give him some extra TLC. Frost is good with short walks, and hanging at home. He is a low activity boy who enjoys sitting outside. He needs a home who can pick him up to go in and out of the car as his injury can get irritated if he jumps down from a car. He does need more medical care than others, but trust us, Frost is worth it. He is so affectionate with people, and he LOVES belly rubs.
When we first saved him, he was so underweight, his coat was matted and filthy, and he didnt know what it was like to be an indoor dog! Now, he is gaining weight and confidence! He has settled in and absolutely loves to get attention from people! Frost now loves to sleep on dog beds and he woos for love! His back leg can sometimes buckle but he corrects himself. He walks absolutely amazing on a leash and he loves to go everywhere with his foster. He is super well mannered out in public and he is super gentle with meeting new people! He clearly had a rough start to life, but you would never know it because he is just the most docile boy!
We are looking for a SPECIAL home for him who will be committed to his ongoing medical care!
