Maya 

Maya has a rough past with ending up at the local shelter twice, once as a stray and then back as an owner requested euthanasia for barking at the kids! She had zero bite history so thank god the shelter denied the request and we pulled her. She has been failed by humans again and again, but we won’t settle for nothing but the perfect forever home for her. Maya came to as fearful of men, likely due to some past abuse, but she has made so many strides since being with her foster for these past 7 months. She is no longer afraid of men and she cuddles her foster dad and willingly goes up to him for attention and love!

We know the perfect forever home is always worth the wait! Maya is 5-6 years old, and she is so well behaved for a husky. She is fully potty trained, and she is non destructive so she does not need to be crated when left home alone. Maya has a submissive and non confrontational personality and she gets along with all dogs! We would love for her to go to a husky experienced home where she can have another husky in the home to bond with! Maya knows many commands like sit, come, down, paw, and she holds a stay command until she is instructed to “come”.

Maya is a super cuddly and affectionate girl once she bonds with you! Her new forever home will have to understand it will likely take her time to adjust.. 3 weeks to 3 months to fully feel at home. Maya deserves a home with a fenced in backyard. Maya loves to play fetch in the yard, go for long night walks, but throughout the day she is very content with sleeping on the couch or bed! She is the perfect balance of chill throughout the day and morning / night time energy! She has been great with kids that visit her foster home, but due to her past we think kids 10 and older would be best for her in the home! Maya can be vocal, but its just the way she communicates. Maya is LOVING & LOYAL!
