Star

Our MDAS deadline girl Star is doing so amazing in her board and train.

Star is the perfect example how the shelter environment can really affect huskies behaviorally. She was shutting down in the shelter environment and she was given a deadline for growling and being labeled aggressive. Yet, when she was out in the play area at the shelter she was a volunteer favorite who jumped up for attention.

She was at the shelter since January and we knew we had to save her before her deadline was up. Star has been with our behavioralist/ trainer and, since decompressing she has been doing great!

She is super affectionate with people, and she is learning boundaries and not jumping on people for attention. She LOVES to play in the yard and she zooms around when she is out there. She has a lot of energy, so she had a lot of built up energy by not being let out enough at the shelter. The only aggression we have seen from her is she can guard/ growl when she is in her crate, which we are working on. She does great about going into the crate and she has been playing with toys and chewables during crate time.

Star is super smart and a perfect example that once you take a dog out of the shelter environment they can transform after decompressing! She really is loving and eager to please husky. She will soon be ready to go to a husky experienced foster or forever home! We are looking for a home who can continue her training and provide consistent boundaries. Star needs a home with no kids and she needs a fenced in backyard to zoom around on!
